Sandwich
- 1 package Savory Butter Hawaiian Rolls (12 count)
- 12 slices black forest ham
- 6 slices Havarti cheese
Buttery Topping
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- Prepare Rolls and Baking Dish: Slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally without separating individual rolls. Carefully remove the top half and set aside. Lightly grease a 9×12-inch baking pan with butter and place the bottom half of the rolls evenly inside the pan.
- Add Ham and Cheese: Layer each roll on the bottom half with one slice of black forest ham, followed by half a slice of Havarti cheese, ensuring even coverage across all rolls.
- Prepare and Add Buttery Topping: In a microwavable bowl, melt the salted butter by heating for about 30 seconds. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and poppy seeds until well combined. Place the top half of the rolls back over the layered bottom half and generously brush the buttery mixture over the tops of the rolls to coat evenly.
- Bake: Loosely cover the baking pan with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown and slightly crispy.
Notes
- You can substitute Havarti cheese with Swiss or mozzarella if preferred.
- Worcestershire sauce is optional, but adds a subtle depth of flavor.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the buttery topping.
- These sliders are best served warm and fresh out of the oven.
- Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator and reheated gently before serving.
