Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen shelled edamame
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 320°F (160°C) to prepare for roasting the edamame.
  2. Thaw and dry the edamame: Rinse the frozen shelled edamame under hot water to partially thaw them. Drain thoroughly and pat dry to remove excess moisture, which helps achieve a crispy texture when roasted.
  3. Toss with olive oil: In a mixing bowl, coat the edamame evenly with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to enhance flavor and aid browning during roasting.
  4. Prepare the baking tray: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Spread the edamame evenly on the tray, making sure they do not overlap to ensure even roasting.
  5. Season and roast: Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt over the edamame. Place in the oven and roast for about 30 minutes, stirring with a spoon halfway through to ensure even cooking and golden color.
  6. Finish and serve: Remove the edamame from the oven, add extra sea salt if desired, and serve warm or at room temperature as a healthy snack or salad topping.

Notes

  • Make sure the edamame are well dried after rinsing to avoid steaming instead of roasting.
  • You can adjust the salt quantity to your preference or substitute with other seasonings like smoked paprika or garlic powder for flavor variations.
  • Serve immediately for best crispiness, but roasted edamame can also be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
